I saw an article about "Automating pixel art generation for game graphics using DALL-E 2":
The workflow used here is pretty familiar to me (generate images and outpaint using DALL-E, then pixelate using magick), but generating the images which are then pixelated with DALL-E seems rather uninteresting to me. Current consumer grade AI models excel with certain kinds of art styles like oil painting and photography, but not pixel art.
There's other tools designed specifically for easily creating pixel art or faux-pixel art assets, like Juice FX and PixaTool. It would be cool to try out using better tools for this purpose, as well as testing what workflows work best for synthetic artists.
